Home Health CoPs Comprehensive Assessment
This course provides a detailed review of the Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs) related to the home health comprehensive assessment (§484.55). Participants will learn the regulatory requirements, timelines, and documentation standards needed to complete an accurate, timely, and patient-centered assessment. Emphasis is placed on compliance, care planning, and the integration of OASIS to support eligibility and quality outcomes.

conducting the initial and comprehensive
assessment of home health patients, including
timelines and discipline-specific responsibilities. - Explain the content elements required in a
comprehensive assessment, including health status,
psychosocial needs, functional abilities, caregiver
support, and OASIS integration. - Identify the criteria and timing for updating the
comprehensive assessment, including significant
changes in patient condition or care transitions - Discuss the role of the comprehensive assessment
in determining eligibility for the Medicare home
health benefit, establishing the plan of care, and
supporting ongoing care coordination
